DMCA Policy & Copyright Takedown
Last updated: August 21, 2026
1. What Tamil Radios Is
Tamil Radios (www.tamilradios.com) is a directory of live Tamil radio stations. We are not a broadcaster. We do not create, produce, own, host, store, record, or edit any of the audio you hear through this site.
Each listing is a link to a publicly accessible stream operated by a third-party broadcaster on that broadcaster's own servers. When you press play, your device connects to that broadcaster's stream. The only data we hold is the station name, description, logo and the stream address supplied to us.
2. How Stations Get Listed
Stations are submitted to us by their owners or operators, either through our Add Your Station page or by email. Before publishing a submission we carry out a short verification to confirm that the stream is live and that the submitter presents themselves as the station's operator.
That verification cannot extend to the content of a station. These are live, continuously changing broadcasts — the station owner decides at every moment what is transmitted, and can change it at any time after listing. We have no control over, no advance knowledge of, and no ability to screen what a station broadcasts. Responsibility for the content of a broadcast, and for holding the licences and clearances it requires, rests entirely with the station owner.
3. Our Response to a Copyright Notice
We respect the rights of copyright owners and respond to properly submitted notices. On receiving a valid notice about a listed station, we act as follows:
- Temporary suspension. The disputed station is promptly suspended and removed from public listing on the site while the matter is reviewed.
- Notice forwarded to the station owner. We forward the notice to the email address on record for that station's owner and ask them to respond, resolve the issue with the complainant, or provide evidence of their right to broadcast the material.
- Permanent deletion. If the station owner does not reply, or their reply is not satisfactory, the station is permanently deleted from Tamil Radios.
- Restoration. If the owner resolves the matter with the complainant, or submits a valid counter-notice (see section 6), the listing may be restored.
Because we do not host the audio, removing a listing removes the station from this directory only. It does not stop the broadcast itself, which continues on the operator's own servers. If you need the broadcast stopped, the notice should also go to the station operator and to their streaming or hosting provider.
4. Filing a Copyright Takedown Notice
If you own a copyright, or are authorised to act for the owner, and you believe a station listed on Tamil Radios is infringing it, send us a written notice containing all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or of a person authorised to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list, if one notice covers multiple works).
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it. For a live broadcast this means the station name and its page URL on tamilradios.com, plus the date and time, with time zone, at which you heard the material broadcast.
- Your contact details: full name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
An incomplete notice may delay our response. If yours is missing any of the items above, we will tell you what is needed.
5. Where to Send a Notice
Send your notice to our designated contact for copyright matters:
Copyright Agent — Tamil Radios
Email: [email protected]
Subject line: DMCA Takedown Notice
You can also use our contact form and select "Copyright / DMCA Takedown" as the subject.
We aim to acknowledge notices within 2–3 business days.
6. Counter-Notice — For Station Owners
If your station was suspended and you believe the removal was a mistake or a misidentification, or you hold the rights or licences for the material in question, send us a counter-notice containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the station that was suspended and the URL at which it appeared.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the station was suspended as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your full name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of your address — or, if you are outside the United States, of any judicial district in which we may be found — and that you will accept service of process from the complainant or their agent.
- Where applicable, evidence of the broadcast licences or rights clearances you hold.
We forward valid counter-notices to the original complainant. Your station may be restored if the complainant does not pursue the matter further, or if the dispute is resolved between the two of you.
7. Repeat Infringers
We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the listings and submission privileges of station owners who are the subject of repeated valid copyright notices. A station permanently deleted for copyright reasons will not be re-listed, and further submissions from the same operator may be refused.
8. Misuse of This Process
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), a person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing — or that it was removed by mistake — may be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. Please be sure you own the rights, or are authorised to act for the owner, before sending a notice. If you are unsure whether a use is infringing, seek legal advice first.
9. Related Policies
This policy sits alongside our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. We may update it from time to time; changes are posted on this page with a new date above.
